Satoshi Kojima is unable to perform at NJPW Road To New Beginning due to MCL injury in todays Wrestling news
Kojima won the MLW World Heavyweight Championship recently.
The leader of Bread Club has been injured.
Satoshi Kojima was forced to withdraw from the NJPW Road to the New Beginning show on February 8 and 9, due to a MCL injury.
It’s unclear when Kojima sustained the injury. His last match was on Saturday, when he defeated Alex Kane and won the MLW world championship.
Kojima had been scheduled to team up with El Desperado, Yuji Nagata, and Yujiro Tahashi against SHO, Yoshinobu Kannemaru, and Yujiro Takahashi at tomorrow’s Fukushima show. On Friday, he had been scheduled to team up with Shota Umino, Tomoaki Honma, and EVIL against Dick Togo and Ren Narita. In both matches, he will be replaced by RyusukeTaguchi.
Kojima will also defend his MLW World Title against Minoru Suzuki on February 29, at Intimidation games. Fightful reports that Kojima will be out for only a few weeks due to his injury and he will be back on time for the show.
Tomohiro Ishii has also been pulled from the Road to the New Beginning shows. He will be traveling to Henderson Nevada for the Saturday episode of AEW Collision. Ishii will be competing against Orange Cassidy on the show for the International Championship.
NJPW1972.com reported that Tomohiro Ishii would be absent this week due to his participation in the AEW show.
Ishii was to be teamed up with Hiroshi Takahashi, Togi Mabe, and Honma on Thursday against TMKD. The following night he was scheduled to team up with Tanahashi Makabe and Tiger Mask, also against TMDK. In both matches, YOSHI HASHI will replace him.
Jeff Cobb has been officially pulled from the shows on Thursday and Friday. Since Saturday’s Saitama show, Cobb has been sidelined with a left thigh sprain. Cobb was scheduled to appear in two multi-person tag match featuring the United Empire and Bullet Club War Dogs on the shows. The Great-O-Khan will replace him in both matches.
Cobb is still scheduled for Sunday’s cagematch against Bullet Club. Ishii and Kojima were not scheduled to appear.
