Santos Escobar will be given a shot at the title.
Escobar beat Andrade on Saturday to earn a future United States Championship Match. Carmelo Hayes intervened at the end of the match to pull Escobar from danger while Elektra Lopez distracted Elektra. Escobar was able to win the match by rolling up Andrade in the confusion.
LA Knight celebrated the United States Championship right before the match. He had defeated Logan Paul at SummerSlam last weekend. Escobar interrupted Knight’s celebration, saying that the title was just a momentary victory and the beginning of his own championship reign. Knight said that it didn’t really matter who won the match between the number one contender and himself, as everyone knew it was his game.
In June, LA Knight beat Escobar and Paul in a three way match to advance in the Money in the Bank match ladder. Knight tried to get a title fight after MITB. He even went as far as breaking into Logan Paul’s home. Paul agreed to the SummerSlam match, which he eventually lost despite using brass knuckles that MGK had given him.
