The 30-year-old has been suspended from the company twice before.
Sammy Guevara has reportedly been suspended by AEW.
Fightful reports Guevara’s suspension is linked to his no disqualification match against Jeff Hardy during the February 14 Rampage tape. Hardy was hurt when Guevara collided his knee with Hardy’s face during a shooting-star press attempt.
The match continued after the injury. Guevara gave Hardy the finisher first before pinning Hardy, which, according to today’s report, was not concussion protocol.
Details about the length of suspension have not yet been revealed.
Guevara wrestled only once since his match with Hardy. He lost to Powerhouse Hobbs in the episode of Collision on February 24.
This is the second time the 30-year old has been suspended by the promotion. In 2020, he was suspended for 30 days after making insensitive remarks on a podcast that spread on social media in 2016. Guevara attended sensitivity courses as a consequence.
Bryan Alvarez, our own Bryan Alvarez, would later report that Hardy had suffered a broken nase but was not concussed by the move. He hasn’t fought since, and there is no timetable for when he will return.
Alvarez wrote his subscribers on X that “the word from within AEW was that Jeff Hardy sustained a broken nose but not a head injury” last night.
