WWE is about to embark on a new story.
WWE has just begun a new story after the conclusion of one.
The Rock confronted Cody Rhodes, the new Undisputed WWE champion on Monday’s Raw following WrestleMania. He told Rhodes that “our story just began” and promised to some for Rhodes to return to WWE when he returns.
Rhodes and WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H’ Levesque opened Raw. Levesque thanked the crowd for “the biggest WrestleMania ever.” Triple H called Rhodes into the ring, presented him with a tribute video and then left the ring.
The Rock then interrupted Rhodes, traded jabs with Philadelphia’s crowd before explaining that he had to “go away for a while,” a reference that Rock will be stepping away from WWE in the coming months to film two films. Rhodes told Rock he was looking forward to the story unfolding.
The Rock-Rhodes segment ended with Rock giving Rhodes a never-before-seen object, passing it on to him in a hand-to-hand exchange. Rock told Rhodes not to break his heart ever again.
