Rock slapped and bloodied Rhodes by the end of the show on Monday.
The Rock surprised Raw with a surprise appearance.
The Rock made a surprise appearance as Cody Rhodes opened the show in Chicago on Monday. The Rock came to the ring, stared at Rhodes and then said something that was not heard by the audience. The Rock smirked as he exited the ring. Rhodes appeared confused by what The Rock said.
Jackie Redmond tried to ask Rock, backstage, what he said to Rhodes. He told Redmond that Cody should ask him what he said. Redmond asked Rhodes about it later in the show. He said it’s something he couldn’t repeat but that it’s a promise The Rock can’t fulfill.
Rock brutally attacked Rhodes behind the scenes, and ended up near Rhodes bus in the pouring down rain. Rock smeared Rhodes’s blood on a belt that read “MAMA RHODES”. He told Cody Dusty had talked about hard time and Cody would soon know about it. He said that it didn’t need to be this way but it is now the only way.
The Rock will be advertised for the Raw in Brooklyn, New York next week, which is the final Raw before WrestleMania. He has made regular appearances in the weeks leading up to his match on night 1, teaming with Roman Reigns against Seth Rollins, and Rhodes. Rock has been focusing on Rhodes, and his mother in the weeks before their match.
On Friday’s SmackDown, Rhodes agreed to meet Roman Reigns one-on-one, his opponent for night two of WrestleMania. The trap was set when The Bloodline circled the ring after the two had exchanged words. Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, and others came out and the show ended with a draw.
