Rob Van Dam returns to AEW Collision on a holiday for marijuana lovers.
Tony Khan, AEW’s head of operations, announced on X-Friday that the former WWE and ECW superstar will be part the company’s Saturday 20th April edition of Collision. The location has not been revealed.
The 4:20 is a longstanding cultural nod towards smoking marijuana. April 20th is celebrated by the industry every year with festivals, events in shops, etc. Van Dam is long associated with marijuana, with VICE News calling him a weed icon in this feature.
Van Dam will appear on Wednesday’s Dynamite in Tulsa (Oklahoma) as he teams up with Hook and Hangman page against AEW World Champions Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland, and Brian Cage.
The 53-year old made his AEW debut in August last year, when he faced Jack Perry. Since then, he’s wrestled three more times and allied with Hook because of the ECW connection to Hook’s father Taz.
Van Dam appeared last on Dynamite 31st January, losing to Strickland in a hardcore match.
