Ring of Honor has unveiled a new championship.
Tony Khan, the owner of the company, introduced the Ring of Honor Women’s World Television Championship in a segment of Thursday’s Ring of Honor TV Show, displaying the belt.
In a post on social media, ROH announced the new title and said it was the beginning of a new chapter.
The #ROH Women’s World TV Championship has been introduced by the #ROH Owner & Chief Executive @TonyKhan.
No announcements have been made about when the first Women’s TV Champion would be crowned or how that first title holder would be determined.
The Women’s TV Championship is the seventh title recognized in ROH. It joins the ROH World Championships, ROH Pure Championships, ROH World Television Championships, ROH World Tag Team Championships, ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships, and ROH Women’s World Championships.
The Women’s TV championship will be the second women division title recognized by ROH. Athena is currently the ROH Women’s World Champion, and has held the title for over a year. She won the belt after defeating Mercedes Martinez at Final Battle 2020. Athena’s last defense was against Billie Starkz at Final Battle 2023 on Friday.
