Rikishi opens up about his risky Hell an a Cell fall.

Armageddon 2000 will forever be remembered as the event in which Rikishi fell backwards off the top of Hell in a Cell and onto the flatbed truck.

The WWE Hall of Famer spoke to Metro.co.uk recently and recalled almost getting divorced because of the spot.
Rikishi said, “I almost divorced my family.” “It was almost like, they were angry that I made that sacrifice. They didn’t realize that it’s what we do as performers, as wrestlers.

“You’ve already prepared your mind. You know, ‘I only get this chance once. I could either take it or back it out’, and I chose to accept it. “Years later, I still get residuals from that bump.”

Rikishi said, “As wrestlers you can prepare to be able see where you are going to fall.” It was a very intimidating moment when I was going backwards and couldn’t see which way I would go.

He revealed that during rehearsals the flatbed was not equipped with aluminum railings. When it was time for the bump to be shown on pay-per view, Rikishi told The Undertaker he wouldn’t back out and said “Tell my Family I Love Them.”

Rikishi then had to determine if he still lived after he had successfully landed on the truck.

He revealed, “I didn’t even know if I was alive.” “Trying to move my body, I was just standing still — all I heard was, Holy shit. I said, Okay. My ears work. But I was waiting for my body.”
