Ricochet, who has reportedly informed WWE that he won’t be returning after his current contract expires, is a big free agent.
PWInsider broke the news on Saturday night. They also said that the high-flyer would be written out of storylines before the contract’s expiration date, which is not yet known.
He is the WWE Speed Champion, having won the inaugural tournament. He will defend his title against Andrade ElIdolo in a match taped last night and scheduled to air this week.
Will Ospreay, a former opponent and the current AEW International champion, said in a recent AEW interview that he believed Ricochet’s contract might be ending soon and called WWE’s use of his ex-rival “appalling.”
After years of working in the independents, Dragon Gate, and NJPW the 35-year old has been with the WWE since January 2018, and debuted shortly thereafter in NXT. He made his debut on the main roster in February 2019. He was then drafted to Raw several months later.
During his time with WWE, he held the Speed title mentioned above, the Intercontinental Title, the United States Title, and the NXT North American Title.
He is engaged to WWE ring-announcer Samantha Irvin.
Ricochet, like Becky Lynch and Chad Gable, is one of many WWE talent whose contracts have expired or will expire soon.
