Ric Flair apologizes to Eric Bischoff Vince Russo and Jim Herd in todays Wrestling news
Ric Flair apologized for making comments about a “three headed monster” killing WCW.
Flair said on Monday that Eric Bischoff Vince Russo and Jim Herd are responsible for the demise of the company. Flair wrote, “the people who were in charge created dysfunction, animosity and tried to divide, conquer, by lying to everyone, and involving themselves in a promotion which was an ultimate failure!”
On Wednesday morning, Flair apologized to Bischoff Russo and Herd.
Flair is a writer.
“A very important person in my life reminded me yesterday that Twitter is the weakest form of communication. I Want To Take This Chance To Apologize to Jim Herd, @EBischoff and @THEVinceRusso, Because I Really Didn’t Know. I Judged You Unfairly Without Knowing The Intricacies Of The Business And Behind The Scenes With The People You Had To Work With And Report To. I Wish That We Could Have All 3 Worked Together and Had Better Relationships. Vince, I appreciate you calling me the GOAT & helping my son to pursue his dream in wrestling. I Will Do Eric Bischoff’s Podcast, But Not To Bury Anyone. It’s to discuss our differences! @TheRock is Making A Movie About My Life And I’m in a Great Place! “I Hope this Can All Be Behind Us!”
Flair would add the following later:
“I’m Glad To See The Reaction To My Tweet. I just spoke to @EBischoff personally and he’s at peace, @THEVinceRusso is at peace, and hopefully so is Jim Herd. I won’t be appearing on Eric’s podcast tomorrow as a result of our conversation, but I wish him the best of luck & I’m sure he’ll knock it out of the park!”
Bischoff addressed Flair’s initial comments in a live podcast of his 83 Weeks that streamed directly after the airing last night of “Who Killed WCW?” Episode 2. He replied that while Flair may know more than anyone about what happens inside the ring but he does not have experience with the business side.
Bischoff said:
“I’m certain Ric has his own opinions. They’re real in Ric’s mind, and he feels strongly about them, but that doesn’t mean they’re right. It’s his opinion. It would be as if I said, “Well, I’ve produced more than 5000 hours of prime time television, I ought to be able wrestle a 20 minute match, I ought to be able criticize Ric Flair matches.”
Russo and Flair had also reverted to their initial comments about X after Flair’s first comments on Monday.
Looks like The Nature Boy is Hitting That RUM CANDY AGAIN!! !” Russo wrote. “Thanks for giving me so much credit. What kind of Writer can bring down a Multi-Million Dollar company with just a few words on a page? I guess I was really Special. Rick, it’s not my fault that you weren’t in Doc. Sorry, man. I hope you don’t think that my excessive use of David and the rest of Your Family, who were all GREAT by the way–wasn’t the Knife which drew Company’s last blood. Yeah–I also failed at Laying Low.”
Flair replied to Russo.
“Wow! Glad you got back to me @THEVinceRusso!” What ever candy I eat, I can afford to eat it. I don’t know if you can. I’d give you $20k, @EBischoff, $20k and Jim Herd each $20k in advance to show up in Tampa or Atlanta. I’ll rent the venue in Tampa or Atlanta, it will sell out for sure, so we can hash this out. I guarantee that I can probably sell this to a PPV status because I’m Ric FLair and you’re not. “Story Of My Life”
Russo replied to Flair’s apology Wednesday. He wrote: “Life’s too short for any grievances, Ric. At this point, I have no animosity toward anyone and am at peace. I appreciate your words more than you can ever imagine. God Bless You, sir.”
