In October, the reigning Ring of Honor Women’s TV champion Red Velvet is set to make her CMLL debut.
Velvet was announced on Wednesday, during the latest episode CMLL Informa. She will be competing in this year’s Women’s Grand Prix at Arena Mexico on Friday, 25th October. This will be her very first time competing in Mexico.
She joins former CMLL Women’s champion Willow Nightingale and fellow AEW member Samantha Black, Viva Van and Tessa Blanchard as the talent announced.
The format is an elimination bout between Team Mexico, and Team World. The match is won by the last woman standing. Claudio Castagnoli, of AEW, won the Grand Prix for men in August.
The 33-year-old has not yet defended the gold medal he won at Death Before Dishonor in July, but he has two non-title victories since then.
