Randy Orton publicly confirmed the details about his new WWE contract.
Fightful reported recently that Orton had re-signed a five-year contract with WWE. Orton confirmed the news today while cutting a promo during WWE’s pre Bash in Berlin kickoff. He also set his sights on breaking Ric Cena and John Flair’s record of most World title reigns.
Orton said, “I’ve just signed a contract extension for five years.” “I still have some time to do this.” I feel better than I have in over a decade. I want the title, and I want to become a 15-time World Champion. Then I want to become a 16-time World Champion. And even a 17 time World Champion. And set yet another WWE record.”
Orton will challenge Gunther to the World Heavyweight Championship this Saturday at Bash, in Berlin. In his career, Orton was a World Champion fourteen times. WWE recognizes Flair as having 16 World title reigns, while Cena is tied with Flair.
In 2022, after a back injury threatened his retirement, Orton had double fusion surgery. The surgery has improved his condition so much that he feels like he’s gotten a new lease of life.
Orton will be 49 when his new contract expires in 2029.
