Pat McAfee is returning to Raw in the next year.
Michael Cole announced on Monday that McAfee was leaving for a couple of months to prepare for football season. Michael Cole thanked the people behind the scenes for their hard work after a highlight video featuring McAfee was shown. He said that this was a realisation of a dream. Cole announced that McAfee will return when Raw moves over to Netflix in January.
McAfee had announced earlier in the day on social media that this would be his final show for a while, as he’ll be covering College GameDay on ESPN starting this Saturday.
“Very disappointed that tonight will be the last time I visit that wonderful WWE family in a while,” said he. “All right, lets have a fun day.” I’m sad. The football season has begun, which is great. But I’m meant to be with the WWE family. “I know it, and I’m sure they do too.”
Joe Tessitore was announced as the new Raw announcer during the SummerSlam Pre-show. He will begin his role on September 2, the next edition of the show. Michael Cole will be the new host of SmackDown when it moves to USA Network on September 13th.
