Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Winners to receive AEW World title shots in todays Wrestling news
The Owen Hart Foundation Tournament 2024 will feature a little extra.
Dr. Martha Hart (the widow of the late Owen Hart) and AEW owner/president/CEO/GM/head of creative Tony Khan made a joint appearance on Sunday’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view pre-show and revealed that the winners of this year’s Owen Hart Foundation Men’s and Women’s Tournaments will receive AEW World title shots at August’s All In pay-per-view at Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday, August 25.
Khan also confirmed the Friday report that this year’s tournaments would be held in Calgary, Alberta Canada on Wednesday, 10 July.
AEW still hasn’t announced the start dates or participants of this year’s tournaments.
The tournament will be held for the third year in a row to honor the late Owen Hart. Adam Cole and Dr. Britt Bakker won the first editions of the Owen Cup in 2022, while Rick Starks and Willow Nightingale won the 2023 edition.
