Oklahoma Athletic Commission warns AEW about Nyla Rose match in todays Wrestling news
Rose responded to the warning posted on social media.
The Oklahoma State Athletic Commission warned AEW that Nyla Rose would be competing against cisgender females in the state.
According to the minutes of the OSAC meeting in January, the commission voted that AEW be warned not to have Rose, a transgender female, wrestle cisgender cisgenders in the state, or “punitive actions will be taken against them.”
The promotion held their first ever event in the state for a Dynamite/Rampage on December 20. Rose defeated Alejandra in a match aired on ROH TV.
A local promotion informed OSAC Administrator Jim Miller that AEW used Rose on a match card. Miller stated that he contacted AEW and informed them that they had violated OSAC rules. Mike Bower, chairman of the OSAC noted that wrestling applications do not ask if a person has had gender reassignment surgeries, whereas boxing, kickboxing and MMA applications will. Bower suggested that they update the application for wrestling to include this question.
Rose has been working with the company since it was founded in 2019. She is a former Women’s Champion.
