Steve Corino, the former ECW World Champion, has reportedly signed a deal with WWE to continue his role behind-the scenes.
Bodyslam.net reported that Corino, 51, has signed a multi-year WWE deal. He has been working behind the scenes as a producer and coach in WWE/NXT.
The report states Corino will continue as a tag-team coach at the WWE Performance Center, along with producing for NXT. He has also shown interest in having NXT talents compete for his Premier Wrestling Federation independent promotion.
Bodyslam.net reported that Corino was interested in bringing in some NXT talent to work at some possible PWF (Premier Wrestling Federation), shows. Steve Corino, Jacob Hammermeier and his son Colby Corino are all part owners of the Carolina Wrestling Academy and PWF.
Corino was inducted earlier this year into the Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame by Orange Crush Magazine and Game Changer Wrestling. He had a career in the ring that spanned two decades. He was also a commentator for ROH and NJPW in the past.
