At Saturday’s NJPW Wrestling Dontaku, two championships were awarded.
David Finlay defeated Nic Németh in the semi-main event to win the IWGP Global Championship.
Finlay won the title for a second time by pinning Nemeth with Overkill. Nemeth successfully defended his title in the first night of Dontaku, Friday, over Hiroshi Takahashi.
Finlay is the first Global Champion to win the title twice in its short history. Nemeth’s reign comes to an end after one successful defense.
Earlier on the card, KENTA & Chase Owens defeated Hirooki GOTO & YOSHI HASHI to win the IWGP Tag Team Championships for the second consecutive time.
Owens pinned Goto using a jackknife to end Bishamon’s fourth IWGP Tag Team Title reign after a successful defense.
The two title changes come after the title switch that took place on Friday’s Dontaku Show, where Jeff Cobb defeated Zack Sabre Jr. and became the NJPW World TV champion.
Shingo Takagi won the NEVER Openweight Championship by defeating Gabe Kidd. Jon Moxley retained the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship after he defeated Ren Narita.
