NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18, Yuya Uemura and Yota Tsuji to face off in todays Wrestling news
The match was set at the last NJPW show prior to Wrestle Kingdom.
Wrestle kingdom 18 will feature a match between NJPW’s two most promising stars.
The Road to Tokyo Dome’s Road to Wrestle Kingdom event on Friday set up the Yota vs. Yuya Tsuji match for Wrestle King 18 to take place. Uemura won a six-man Tag match by pinfall over Tsuji, earning a singles bout between the two.
Uemura & Taichi defeated Tsuji & Tetsuya in the main match of Friday’s show. This was the last NJPW event prior to Wrestle Kingdom.
Tsuji said he would only play Uemura if Uemura won a pinfall match over him. Uemura was able to win the match by a crucifix.

Heat Storm was urged on by his teammates to continue the match as he escaped from a Tsuji combo to hit an Uranage. Tsuji mocked Uemura’s Boston Crab with a Young Lion-esque Boston Crab. After LIJ got involved, Tsuji continued with a Curb Stomp, and then set up for the Gene Blaster, but was surprised by an armdrag, and crucifix pin.
Uemura referred to the promise Tsuji made the night before, that Uemura would need a direct pinfall to have a singles bout between the two. Uemura challenged Tsuji to a Wrestle Kingdom match.
The biggest event for NJPW is Wrestle King. The event is held at the Tokyo Dome every year on January 4.
