NJPW postpones Global championship match due to Hiroshi Takahashi injury in todays Wrestling news
Tanahashi was to face Nic Nemeth in Sakura Genesis.
Hiroshi Takahashi will not be able make it to his scheduled Global title fight against Nic Nemeth.
NJPW announced that Nemeth will defend the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship on Saturday, April 6, against Tanahashi. Tanahashi was pulled from the Sakura Genesis show after a further examination of his ankle injury.
Tanahashi sustained a right ankle sprain during his match with Matt Riddle on the New Beginning night one in Sapporo on February 23. Tanahashi was forced to miss night 2 due to his injury.
Tanahashi was also pulled from NJPW’s 52nd Anniversary Show and the New Japan Cup Tour.
NJPW announced that the Nemeth-Tanahashi match would take place at a later time to be determined.
Hiroshi Takanashi will miss the New Japan Cup Series and Sakura Genesis on 6 April due to a further examination of an ankle injury sustained in Sapporo at New Beginning.
The previously announced IWGP Global Championship will be postponed until a date to be determined.

Tanahashi lost to Riddle the NJPW World Television Championship at New Beginning in Sapporo, night one. Nemeth won his Global title that same night from David Finlay. This was Nemeth’s NJPW ring debut.
