NJPW crowns Best of the Super Juniors 31, winner in todays Wrestling news
The Best of the Super Juniors 31, tournament has concluded.
El Desperado defeated Taiji-Ishimori at the main event for Sunday’s Dominion in Osaka-jo Hall. Desperado pinned Ishimori after a match that lasted over 20 minutes with the pinche loco, winning the BOSJ for the first time.
He was presented with the tournament trophy after the match and posed for a photo with the ceremonial banner. In his post-match promotional video, he praised Ishimori as Ishimori stormed the backstage.
SHO, the IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion, then taunted Deperado. Desperado then challenged SHO to a steel-cage match for SHO’s title. He said it would be a good way to ensure that no one could interfere. SHO was furious as Desperado proclaimed himself the strongest.
Desperado defeated Douki in the semifinals, while Ishimori beat TJP.
In a vote held prior to Dominion, fans were asked if they preferred the lumberjack match between EVIL & Jon Moxley or the Best of the Super Junior Finals. The vote was won by the finals, which put it in the main event slot.
