NJPW’s complete announcement regarding The New Beginning:
New Beginning cards have been updated in response to the announcement made earlier today that Kazuchika OKADA will leave NJPW on January 31 at the end of his contract, with his last appearances scheduled for February 11, in Osaka, and 23 and 24, in Sappoto.
Okada will be playing his last NJPW game in Korakuen Hall on January 24. The NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Championship match will be held in Korakuen Hall. Okada, Tomohiro Tanahashi, and Hiroshi Takahashi will face Shane Haste (TMDK), Mikey Nicholls, and Kosei Fujita from New Beginning Osaka. TMDK has a vice-like grip on the gold, but is it too high a mountain to climb for them?
The newly freed Zack Sabre Jr. will now face Tiger Mask in an exclusive singles match as the main card action begins. Meanwhile, the scheduled opening bout between Katsuya Muaashima and Toru Yano against Shoma Kato and Boltin Olga is now a bonus kickoff.
New Beginning will be held in Osaka on February 11, and there will be a special singles bout between Okada vs Hiroshi Tanahashi. The Rainmaker and Ace’s journey began in 2012 with New Beginning at the EDION arena. They will face off for the last time in a night full of emotions, 12 years after they first met.
