NJPW apologized to its official fan club members after losing a USB that contained some personal information.
The USB drive was stolen at NJPW’s Korakuen Hall show in Tokyo on the 22nd of April. The USB drive contained 32,775 names, dates of birth, gender, age, membership numbers, membership types, and expiration dates of membership. The USB drive did not include credit card numbers, addresses, phone number, or email address.
NJPW has stated that there is currently no evidence that information has been misused or that damage has been caused.

NJPW claims that the USB drive had been lost during preparations for a photo shoot for fan club members. NJPW, after being unable to locate the drive, contacted the police and filed a complaint on April 25, 2019. The drive is still missing.
NJPW will be looking at a new authentication method that does not rely on USB memory. The promotion states that the company will make efforts to handle personal data more strictly, so this does not happen again. This includes training, where employees are thoroughly educated on handling personal information.
NJPW will send individual notifications to all members who may be affected by the incident.
