NJPW announced that they will be releasing their own version of Forbidden Doors in January.
During the AEW x NJPW forbidden door on Sunday, a NJPW promotional video was shown for Wrestledynasty, which will take place the following day, Sunday, 5th January — the day after the annual Wrestle kingdom event at the Tokyo Dome, where both events are now taking place.
The promo featured AEW, Ring of Honor and CMLL, as well as shots of AEW stars such as Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson.
In the clip it was stated that “the door finally opens to Japan.”
Wrestledynasty, announced in February 2020, was originally planned as a supershow that would take place in 2021 at Madison Square Garden. It was to be the first event the company had ever promoted independently in the venue. The pandemic caused several delays, and ultimately the show was cancelled.
NJPW is no stranger to cross-promotion, as evidenced by their third event with AEW in Forbidden Door, and their Multiverse events with Impact Wrestling. They also have a long-running Fantastica Mania event with CMLL.
NJPW announces Forbidden Door -like Wrestle Dynasty with AEW CMLL & ROH in todays Wrestling news, Chatalong Chatbox, Results will be Hidden inside a spoiler Button so you will not bet spoiled about direct results.
