Nick Aldis: “I’ll cross the bridge if it comes to that” in todays Wrestling news
Aldis hasn’t ruled out the possibility of competing in a WWE arena
Nick Aldis, despite enjoying his current role in WWE, isn’t ruling it out.
Aldis began his career with WWE as a character last summer. He has now worked as an onscreen character for over three months. He was introduced on October 13 as the new SmackDown General Manager.
Aldis and Roman Reigns have been in a power battle on WWE television. This has led some fans to speculate about a Reigns-Aldis match. Aldis told Daily Mail he is grateful for fans who want him to compete in a WWE arena. Aldis is currently fully committed to his role as GM, but believes that anything in WWE is possible.
In the WWE, anything is possible. I am grateful to all the fans that keep me alive, who want me in the ring in this or that situation. Since my encounter with Roman, this has sparked a new conversation.
I’m grateful that there is interest. I am also committed to being the greatest general manager ever, so I will cross that bridge when I get there.
Aldis knew that when he left the NWA he wanted a job with WWE. Aldis wanted to be able to contribute in the big leagues.
I’ve had a blast. I’m blessed with the ability to manage expectations. I had accepted the fact that WWE might not be in my future. I’ve certainly come in with a gratitude that perhaps I wouldn’t have felt as a young man.
I came in for a day rate to try out as a behind-the-scenes producer. I was fully at peace with the fact that if it’s my job then I’ll do it to the best of the ability. I decided to make a contribution to the big leagues at this stage in my career and life.
It could be that I put in 10,000 hours and felt I had enough experience and expertise, my own unique philosophy, and my track record of success to work at the highest level. I felt that my professional skill set was best suited for the number one company.
I finished with the NWA. At that time, I decided to join WWE if I had any chance. I felt I’d done all I could at a place that had limited resources, and I just decided that I wanted to contribute in some way.
Aldis was twice a World Heavyweight Champion with the NWA. He is also a former TNA World Champion.
Aldis announced on SmackDown a couple of weeks ago that Reigns would defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble against Randy Orton and LA Knight in a four-way match. Aldis announced the match after The Bloodline interrupted an Orton, Knight and Styles number-one contender’s match.
