In one of the many memorable moments of AEW’s return at Wembley Stadium in London, local favorite PAC, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta were crowned AEW Trios Champions.
The threesome, which was a makeshift trio, defeated the reigning champions The Patriarchy and the House of Black in a London ladder match.
Christian Cage was on Killswitch’s shoulders and about to grab the belt, when PAC ran to the top of the ladder to engage Cage. Cage was eventually pushed off the ladder, leaving PAC to grab the belt and win the match.
The 38-year old PAC hails from Newcastle upon Tyne in England.
The second time PAC has won the gold, he, Penta El Zero Miiedo & Rey Fenix, won the titles in 2022. They held them for 126 day before losing them in January 2023 to The Elite (Young Bucks & Kenny Omega), in the final match of a best-of-7 series.
Castagnoli and Yuta, who both previously held Ring of Honor titles, are the first to hold an AEW title of this kind.
The win ends a short run for Cage Killswitch and Nick Wayne, which began just a little over a week ago on Collision. Sunday was their first defense.
