New AEW Dynamite Set: First Look in todays Wrestling news
The new look includes the return of the entrance tunnels.
The new set of AEW Dynamite was unveiled.
The updated look features the return of entrances tunnels, similar to those used by the company in the early days. Mike Mansury, EVP of Global Production, described the set as “delivering AEW’s next evolution with a nod to what got us to this point.”
Tony Khan told SI.com tonight is the best time for his company’s new look. He noted Sting’s retirement, the debut of Will Ospreay and possibly others as the end of a chapter and the beginning of another.
Khan said:
Tonight is the best time, especially after an amazing AEW revolution. In many ways, this was the end of a chapter and the start of a new. Sting’s incredible three-year run with AEW, and his most iconic career in the world of wrestling ended on a high note as the undefeated AEW Tag Team Champion. Tonight is the beginning of a brand new era. People will be thrilled to see this new set airing on Dynamite.
Mansury said that AEW debuted a brand new set in January. However, the response was “mixed.” He also said that the reaction to the old-school design they presented for Dynamite 200 played a role in the updated design.
Mansury said
When I joined AEW back in November ’22, a new Dynamite was already in the works. In January of this past year, a brand new set and a brand new graphics package were introduced. The reception was mixed. But something was missing.
Tony has an excellent sense of history. The company is only five years old, but it has a rich history. We did a throwback Dynamite episode for Dynamite 200 and the reception was huge. Tony listens to his fans, and he heard a request to return to the roots of AEW.
