Natalya has revealed what caused her recent three-month absence.
The 42-year old returned to the company this week on WWE Raw as the mystery partner for Zelina Vega, Lyra Vakyria and a win against the Pure Fusion Collective. This was her first match after the NXT 4th edition.
Natalya revealed yesterday on Growing Up Von Erich With Kristen & Hollie Von Erich that she had a number of reasons for her absence. These included a need for a “mental reset”, eye surgery, and secret projects.
She said, “I took some time off this summer, and the company was very supportive.” “They said ‘Take as long as you need. ‘”
“It is changing in the best possible way. The culture has changed so much. Our boss, Triple H is a really cool boss. I had eye surgery to correct my astigmatism and needed some extra time to do it. He said, “Go get your eye fixed.” He also said, “Don’t worry about it. Take care of yourself.” ‘”
She added:
“I played my last match in the middle of June, so it wasn’t even three months. But I took a break because I felt like I needed a mental reset. I need to regroup, recalibrate and refocus. It was for my mental well-being. “It’s one thing to look good, be fit, and have abs. But if your mind isn’t in the right place, you can’t enjoy any of the fun things.”
Natalya mentioned in the conversation that, of late, she has been working with a couple of projects relating to the Hart Family History.
“I have been sworn in secrecy so I won’t reveal any spoilers, but I am working on two different projects and again, I want to keep the Hart family name alive,” said she.
Natalya also discussed the shared history of the Hart and Von Erich Families, which unfortunately includes a great deal of tragedy.
Natalya said, “I still think it would be cool if Owen were still here. He could help me out or we could discuss wrestling.” “I know you guys feel the same way about your family. It would be awesome to be able bond with them, and share your dreams, hopes, and fears as well as the good and bad things of life. But, I still think about Owen everyday. It was a really, truly difficult time for my family but I am so happy that he’s being celebrated. Martha, Oje and Athena are doing all they can to preserve his legacy.”
Natalya also discussed with the Von Erichs Stu Hart’s training of Fritz Von Erich, Natalya as Lacey Von Erich first opponent, etc.
