The first semifinal match of the WWE Speed Women’s Championship has been confirmed.
Naomi won the first round of WWE Speed against Blair Davenport today. Naomi won the match by submitting Davenport with 25 seconds remaining in the three-minute limit. This sets up a semifinal match between IYO SKY and Naomi later in the tournament.
Naomi said, “Well, I’ve won my first match tonight in the first round,” in a promo after the match. “Next stop, Ms. IYO Sky. You’re not scared, girl. You better get ready for this glow. “I am on my way to being the first WWE Speed Women’s Champion.”
SKY defeated Lyra Valkyria in the first match of the title tournament last week. It was the very first women’s match ever to take place on WWE Speed.
The remaining matches in the first round are Candice LeRae against Piper Niven and Kairi Sane against Elektra Lopez. Sane vs. Lopez is scheduled to premiere at noon Eastern Time on Wednesday, September 18.
WWE Speed made its debut on X/Twitter in April as part of a 2-year deal between WWE, the social media company and X. Andrade is the WWE Speed Champion for men.
