MVP confirms upcoming WWE departure, challenges Josh Barnett at Bloodsport XI in todays Wrestling news

MVP is leaving WWE and has already taken his first steps.

MVP made a surprise appearance in the ring after Barnett’s match with Bad Dude Tito on Sunday at Bloodsport XI. He said that he just got his black-belt in jiu-jitsu, and his contract with an unknown company (WWE) was about to expire. He’s not returning. He said that he had things he wanted to do before he retired and issued the challenge. Barnett responded that he did not even have to ask and he is welcome to come alone or with a group.

It was reported last week that Bobby Lashley and MVP were leaving WWE when their respective contracts expire and would try to reform the Hurt Business with Shelton Benjamin and possibly in AEW. On Instagram, MVP reflected back on his current WWE run.

Levesque did not give any updates on Lashley and MVP when he spoke to local media in London following a meeting with the Mayor about bringing WrestleMania into the city.

“Like any sport or business, we sign talent. When the talent contract expires, we release talent. He said that it is part of the process.

MVP has been a rare sight on TV in 2024. Most recently, he accompanied Omos into the ring to take part in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal that took place before WrestleMania.
