Minneapolis to host two-night WWE SummerSlam in 2026 in todays Wrestling news
SummerSlam is coming soon to Minneapolis.
WWE announced Thursday that the biggest event of summer in 2026 will be held over two nights. The event will be held at US Bank Stadium in Minnesota, home to the Minnesota Vikings on August 1 and 2, 2026.
Minnesota was a finalist for WrestleMania until the event in Las Vegas was announced earlier this month. Wendy Blackshaw, president and chief executive of Minnesota Sports and Events (MNSE), spoke to the Star Tribune and stated that they were informed they didn’t get the event because there was a “change in ownership”. However, Blackshaw also said they are “optimistic” about Minnesota hosting WWE events in the future.
Blackshaw stated in a Thursday press release that he was “thrilled” to welcome the WWE Universe for SummerSlam to Minnesota. “We will make the summertime wrestling extravaganza affordable for fans of every age.” SummerSlam will be accessible to all through a variety events and festivities in the Twin Cities, and affordable tickets for the main events at U.S. Bank Stadium.
