Mike Santana has signed with TNA Wrestling.
TNA announced on Wednesday that Santana had signed an official contract. The terms and duration of the contract have not been disclosed.
Santana returned on Saturday to the Rebellion promotion and defeated Steve Maclin during an impromptu fight. He also took part in the TV tapings on the following day. The match he played against Myron Reeve on Sunday will be shown on AXS TV on Thursday.
Santana said, “One by one you’ve all fallen to the worst ever,” in an exclusive digital interview with TNA after his Rebellion win. “The best thing about it is that I did it all on my own terms. I took my career into my own hands, like a real man. Look at me. I’m back home in TNA and just defeated a former World Champion and one of the top performers this company has. One of the best. What is the biggest statement I can make? What is the bigger statement I need to make?
“I’m here to win the top spot,” he said. “So, everyone watching, everyone that is sitting high in their trees, everybody that is sitting comfortably, look at me. I’m going to be real. I’m going to tell you what I think now, so there’s no “he said, she says”.
Santana was with AEW until his contract expires earlier this year. He told Chris Van Vliet later that he had been talking to companies about coming in, but was adamant he didn’t just want to be “another guy on the roster.”
Santana said:
I’ve had a few discussions. I’ve been open with everyone. Now, I’m just looking for the place where I can grow the most. I don’t just want to be another player on the team. I’ve already done that. I want to be a part of something. I want to do something unique. I’m a smart money manager and I don’t have any financial problems. I take my time and I want to enjoy myself.
Santana replied that a return to TNA was “on the table.”
They are doing well. TNA is doing a great job.
