Mike Santana, who has left AEW, is excited about the future.
Santana’s departure from AEW was confirmed this week. He was on the company’s roster from 2019 but had not wrestled for AEW for nearly five months.

Santana said that he is excited about the future and believes that the best is still to come. You can read his full statement below:
I took a few days to think about it and I cannot tell you how blessed and grateful I am.
It’s been a 5 year journey full of ups-and-downs, but it has taught me so much about my self and this business. I’m grateful for the chance I was given to be part of history on the ground level. I can say I’ll be forever a part of this legacy from the very first day.
You know that there will come a point in your life when you’ll have to make a decision and bet on yourself. We only have one shot at this life and it’s all about taking risks. You won’t know your true potential until you put it into action. I believe in the saying ‘When one doors closes, another opens’ and am so excited about what my future holds.
In closing, I would like to thank God and my dad for their continued guidance. My family for their unending support. All my fans who have supported me no matter what. To Ortiz for all the years. And AEW, for the opportunity and knowledge.
I TOLD YOU THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
Santana and Ortiz, his tag team partner, joined AEW at All Out 2019. They were Impact Wrestling tag team champions before signing with AEW.
Santana’s and Ortiz’s tag team in AEW was disbanded following a real-life fallout between the two. Later, they worked together as in-ring competitors in AEW. Santana’s final match in AEW saw him defeat Ortiz at Rampage last year.
