Mike Rotunda: Bray Wyatt’s absence from the WWE Hall of Fame in 2024 is ‘less stressing’ in todays Wrestling news
Bill Apter spoke to Rotunda about the death of his son.
Mike Rotunda said that it is less stressful for his entire family to know that Bray Wyatt will not be inducted into WWE Hall of Fame next year.
Rotunda spoke with Bill Apter recently about the passing of his son, as well as his upcoming induction along with Wyatt’s Uncle, Barry Windham. Rotunda believes WWE believed it was too early to induct Wyatt into the Hall of Fame this year.
He said:
I thought that WWE would immediately induct Windham into the Hall of Fame. He will be there at some point. But I think they reassessed things and decided it was too early to do so with our family, the reactions, and the stress we were under.
We received a call from WWE saying that Hunter wanted to do a Zoom Call. We thought they would tell us what happened at WrestleMania, but Hunter said that you guys were going to be inducted. You and Barry. You were part of the very first WrestleMania.
It’s a very flattering experience, and it’s actually less stressful for us, because of the mental strain of the Windham passing.
It’s an honor, because you are being rewarded for the 40 years of work you have done.
Rotunda had already mentioned the documentary about his son, which will air on Peacock April 1.
I called Triple H after Windham died because I didn’t like all the internet crap about him and other stuff. So, Triple H took over and, you know let everyone know Windham had unexpectedly passed. Later, Triple H called to say that we would like a documentary made so his children will know him as they grow older.

WWE has been amazing. They have been very helpful with Windham’s passing. I can’t thank them enough for their generosity. Along with The Rock he sent food here every day and people reaching out. Undertaker, too.
The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2020, the first to have been hand-picked Paul Levesque, will include Paul Heyman and Bull Nakano. Barry Windham & Mike Rotunda are also expected to be inducted, as well as Muhammad Ali, Thunderbolt Patterson and Lia Maivia.
