Mercedes Mone challenged the TBS Champion in a match to AEW Double Or Nothing.
In a promotional segment on Wednesday’s Dynamite show, Mone interrupted a conversation with the next TBS title contender Willow Nightingale to declare a challenge for an upcoming title match at Double or Nothing, set for Sunday, 25th May.
Nightingale and Julia Hart will compete for the TBS Championship during the Dynasty pay per view set for Sunday, 21st April.
Mone made AEW her debut at Dynamite Big Business in March 2013, but has not yet wrestled for the promotion. Mone’s Wednesday challenge would indicate that she will not be making her in-ring debut until Double or Nothing. However, no official announcement has yet been made.
Nightingale and Mone are a natural rivalry, as Mone has been sidelined since last May after suffering an injury during a match with Nightingale in the NJPW Resurgence. Mone, who was supposed to win and be crowned as the NJPW Strong Woman’s Champion after winning the match, called an audible on the spot.
