Scott D’Amore’s pro wrestling venture, which will debut in the near future, will feature a familiar voice as a commentator.
During a recent appearance on Insight With Chris Van Vliet D’Amore announced Mauro Ranallo had agreed to return to pro-wrestling announcing in the role of voice of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling. The promotion will launch on Saturday, October 19, and Sunday, Oct. 20, with events at St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
D’Amore said, “You need a great voice. I think we have the best.” “I believe Mauro Ranallo is the best combat sports announcer across genres, because he has agreed to be Maple Leaf Pro’s voice.”
D’Amore expressed his excitement and honor at having Ranallo as part of the promotion. They’ve been friends for 25 years, dating back to Stampede Wrestling.
Ranallo, in addition to his work as a boxer and MMA fighter, has also done pro wrestling commentary with WWE, NXT and NJPW. He also made a brief cameo in Impact Wrestling 2021, when D’Amore brought Ranallo in to call a match involving Kenny Omega vs Rich Swann.
Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling revives the brand that was popular from the 1930s until the 1980s. Triller TV will broadcast live the events of October 19 and 20.
The shows will feature Konosuke Takashita (former WWE wrestler Jinder Mahl), El Phantasmo (former WWE Wrestler Jinder Mahal), Josh Alexander Gisele Shaw KUSHIDA Alex Zayne Kevin Knight Jake Something Kylie Rae Trevor Lee
This new venture follows D’Amore’s firing from TNA Wrestling as part of the leadership shakeup in February. He was president of TNA before leaving the company.
