Matt Riddle does not believe he will be Bill Goldberg’s final opponent.
Recently, it was announced that Goldberg would have his long-awaited WWE retirement match in the year 2025. Riddle was asked to take part in the match during an appearance on Barstool Rasslin’ podcast.
Riddle replied, “I don’t believe he wants to step forward.”
Riddle was asked whether he and Goldberg “straightened” out their beef. This began after Riddle publicly called Goldberg an unsafe employee and said that he could defeat him in a real battle.
“Well, Bill and I have talked. We were on a flight back from Saudi Arabia, where we had been on a Saudi show (like one of the Crown Jewels). We had some drinks and a discussion. I don’t believe there is any bad blood. I think he understands more what I’m saying. I can understand where he is coming from, and why he thinks my words are disrespectful. I understand, but I didn’t mean it in that way. We’re professional wrestling. I’m not spitting out facts. I can back them up. “This is what it is.”
“A lot people in WWE took it as disrespect. But if you fought for UFC and are now in WWE, what do I have to do? Should I forget my entire career? It’s almost like, “No, I can stretch as well as 98 percent of the people.”
Goldberg believes that the World Heavyweight Championship Gunther is the frontrunner for his opponent after the two had a fight at WWE Bad Blood Atlanta.
Goldberg said, “I think we already know the subject or victim, the frontrunner at the moment, we all know who it is.” “But in 2025 Goldberg will make his comeback in a retirement match. I have a couple of month to prepare. Goldberg told the SEC Network in a statement last month that there was no date or time.
Riddle has just performed for MLW at Lucha Apocalypto on Saturday. He teamed up with Satoshi in a tag team match against Minoru Suzuki and Ikuro Kwon from Contra Unit during the TV taping of the show.
