Matt Riddle’s goal for 2024 is to wrestle in Japan.
Riddle was asked to discuss his future goals while speaking with MuscleManMalcolm during Friday night’s Jake Paul-Andre August boxing match. Riddle says that he will continue to wrestle. Riddle’s bucket list includes competing in Japan.
I would say I’m going keep wrestling, you understand? I’m good at it so keep doing it. Maybe just do some things that I haven’t tried before. I’ve never wrestled before in Japan. I’m putting that on my bucket list for 2024.
Riddle has named AEW’s Kenny Omega, who is currently out indefinitely with diverticulitis, as his dream opponent.

Kenny is hurting now. I saw it, and that was sad. I wanted to wrestle with him. I thought, you know, that my release could have been a chance, but now it isn’t.
Riddle said he is excited about what’s to come and that there are many potential opponents.
Omega posted a picture from the hospital on Friday, announcing that he will be out of action for an indefinite period. Omega said that he had tried to push past the pain as long as possible, but it was too much.
Kota Ibushi wrote Omega will be fine, and will come back.
Riddle was released by WWE on September 22. His release was part of a post-merger cut in the roster after WWE officially acquired Endeavor. Riddle’s release came shortly after he was involved in a JFK Airport incident in New York City.
Riddle’s indie dates have been announced, including a match with Rob Van Dam in March 2024 for Big Time Wrestling.
MuscleManMalcolm asks Riddle if he is interested in boxing against Jake Paul. Riddle said he prefers MMA but he will fight anyone at any moment. Riddle joked he would do anything to get some money.
Paul defeated August in the first bout of Friday’s bout.
