Matt Menard takes over for Chris Jericho in the AEW Rampage commentary Team in todays Wrestling news
Matt Menard, a former Jericho Appreciation society teammate of Chris Jericho’s, will officially replace him in the AEW RAMPAGE commentary team.
Pat Laprade, a podcaster and author, announced the news on Saturday via X.
Menard began by commentating on both AEW Dark Elevation and Dark Elevation, which led to Rampage appearing when Jericho left.
Jericho announced that he would not be commentating anymore so he could appear more often on Dynamite and Collision.
After a multi-year stint in WWE, Menard and Angelo Parker (then Jeff Parker), his longtime partner, signed with AEW on August 20, 2021. They aligned with Daniel Garcia shortly thereafter. They eventually joined Jericho’s latest faction, and competed in the very first Anarchy in the Arena and Blood & Guts matches in 2022.
Menard has only wrestled six times this year since the faction disbanded. He last wrestled in early May, when he beat Mike Bennett in Ring of Honor. Parker was on leave after his recent marriage to Ruby Soho.
