Matt Hardy will be working several dates for Game Changer Wrestling.
It was announced earlier this week that Hardy would make his GCW debut on Friday, August 2, at the Now and Forever event of the promotion. Hardy discussed the news in his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy Podcast on Friday. He noted that GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale first reached out to Hardy this April. He was unable to attend the event due to his surprise return to TNA for Rebellion. They have remained in touch and Hardy has agreed to work at multiple GCW events.
“This is not just one appearance in GCW for me. Hardy said that we’re going do a multi show deal and it will be exciting. “It’s exciting that they announced that Matt Hardy will be there. I think that once people find out who is wrestling, they’ll go even more crazy. It’s going lead to other stuff. It’s going be awesome, I think. I’m looking forward to it. Surprisingly, I was elated by the positive feedback. It seems like it will be a win for everyone so far.”
Now and Forever takes place in Cleveland over the weekend of WWE SummerSlam.
Hardy is still a free agent after his AEW contract expired in April. The Hardy Family has been featured on TNA, with Matt facing Johnny “Dango Curtis” (the former Fandango), in a singles bout at Slammiversary on Saturday.
