Matt Hardy’s current contract is set to expire soon. AEW has offered him a new one.
Hardy’s AEW deal is due to expire in March. Hardy revealed on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy Podcast that he has been offered a contract to stay with the promotion. Hardy said that the contract is for “a couple of years.”
Hardy said that he is still weighing up his options and reviewing AEW’s proposal. Hardy, 49, wants to make the most of his remaining years in the ring. Hardy said he would know his future within the next 30 days.
There is some news to go with my contract negotiations. I’ve had an AEW contract in front of my face for a couple of years. I’m reading it and deciding what to do next. There are still options. I have to make sure I understand the contract and that everything is in line with what I want. As I have said before, I only have a few more years to do this. I want to make sure that I get the most of these years. I want to optimize my work, so this is very important to me.
We’ll see. Right now, I’m weighing my options. There are a few options, and I’d say that in the next one month I’ll know what my immediate future will be.
Hardy has been a member of the AEW roster for over a decade. Jeff Hardy, Hardy’s brother, joined AEW 2022.
