Cardona informed wXw overnight that he will not be able to attend the Drive of Champions show in Germany on June 1 due to a torn muscle. In their announcement, WXW wished Cardona a speedy recovery.
Fightful reports Cardona informed several promoters of the torn rectus. He will undergo surgery to repair the injury.
Cardona competed in Joey Janela’s Spring Break 8 Game Changer Wrestling during WrestleMania Week in Philadelphia.
He made a surprise appearance on the episode of AEW Collision that aired on March 30, losing to Adam Copeland during a Cope Open challenge in the TNT Championship. Cardona stated that getting to face Copeland in a Cope Open challenge for the TNT Championship was his dream match.
The former Zack Ryder tweeted earlier this week to reflect on the four-year mark since his release from WWE. Cardona stated that these past four years were the most successful in his career.
