Matt Cardona, an indie star, is recovering after undergoing surgery for his torn rectus.
“Surgery done. Cardona tweeted Thursday: “The road to recovery begins now.” “Thanks to everyone who reached out. Thank you to @ImChelseaGreen who was by my side. @DarylOsbahrMD fixed me. “You can’t kill…I’m dead.”
Cardona suffered the injury during a match of Reality of Wrestling on Saturday. Cardona will keep himself busy, even though he’ll be out of action for several months. Cardona is still accepting bookings for appearances and autograph signings.
“There’s no good time to be injured…but this isn’t one,” he wrote. “I must keep moving forward…there is no other option.” I’m not a wrestler, but I am still available for appearances and autograph signings. [email protected]. I’m #AlwayszReady for my comeback!”
Cardona had been scheduled to wrestle PCO in Las Vegas at TNA Wrestling’s television taping this Sunday. Cardona also had to cancel a booking with wXw Germany scheduled for June 1.
Cardona made a surprise appearance for AEW on a March 30 episode of Collision, where he unsuccessfully challenged Adam Copeland to the TNT Championship. The match was a part of Copeland’s Cope Open Challenge Series.
