Jacob Henry, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry announced Thursday night that his signing with the promotion.
Jacob announced his signing with WWE at Remix Rumble, alongside his Hall of Fame dad, on Thursday. The news “is going to be out in the next few days.”
Jacob is a student at the University of Oklahoma, and he wrestles for the school.
In a recent interview, Mark revealed that Jacob had also considered trying out for OU’s spring football squad:
“They wanted him for spring football so you might also get to see him on that field as a dual-sport athlete.”
It is not clear if Jacob will officially join the WWE or if he will finish his college career first.
Mark said in the same TMZ Interview that Jacob’s passion was wrestling, but he wanted him to finish his college degree first.
“His true passion, however, is pro wrestling.” He is not trying to become the Olympic champion. He said: “Dad, I don’t want to go to the Pro Bowl, or win the Super Bowl. I just want to main-event WrestleMania.” I want to go to Japan and win the championship. ‘”
