Mark Briscoe qualifies to play in the TNT title ladder match during AEW x NJPW’s Forbidden Door in todays Wrestling news
Mark Briscoe, the latest qualifier for the Forbidden Door ladder game, has been named.
Briscoe defeated Brian Cage in a ladder match on Wednesday. The match will determine the new TNT Champion on June 30, at Forbidden Doors. Briscoe’s win was applauded by Konosuke Takeshita who was in the crowd with Don Callis.
Jack Perry, who watched the match from backstage, applauded as well, but told Briscoe it didn’t really matter, because no one was willing to make a bigger sacrifice for AEW. Perry said that he will win the TNT title, no matter what Tony Khan believes.
Takeshita qualified first, beating Penta El 0 Miedo in a recent Rampage episode. Adam Copeland’s foot injury at Double or Nothing caused the title to be vacated.
Here is the updated lineup for Forbidden Door:
- AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland defends against Will Ospreay
