Lio Rush, who defeated Action Andretti in Friday’s AEW Rampage, will have a shot at winning the TNT at the AEW x NJPW forbidden door on Sunday.
Rush now joins Ring of Honor Champion Mark Briscoe and his Ring of Honor teammates Jack Perry, Konosuke Takahita, and Dante Martin in the six-man ladder for the vacant title. One more participant is yet to be determined.
Rush won over Andretti with a unique rope assisted stunner, followed by his frog splat. He surprised the company by returning last month to compete in the Casino gauntlet for a shot at the World title. It is his first win in three fights since that night.
The title became vacant when Adam Copeland, the then-champion, broke his leg during a jump that went wrong from a steel cage to Malakai black at Double or Nothing last month.
