John Laurinaitis’ lawyer claims that his client is a victim to Vince McMahon.
Laurinaitis was named as a defendant, along with WWE, Vince McMahon and Janel Grant, in the lawsuit that Janel Grant filed last week. Edward Brennan will represent him. He released a statement on Thursday to Vice Media about the case.
“Mr. Laurinaitis will vigorously defend these charges in Court and not in the media,” Brennan stated. “Mr. Laurinaitis, like the Plaintiff, is a victim, not a predator, in this case. The truth will be revealed.”
Brennan replied to a question for clarification by saying, “Read the allegations. Read the Federal Statute. Power, control, employment supervision capacity, dictatorial demands for sexual favors with consequences if not met. Count how often Vince controls both of them in the complaint.
Laurinaitis left WWE in August 2022 after allegations were made in a Wall Street Journal Article against him and McMahon. Bruce Prichard replaced him as his Head of Talent Relations. He was with the company since 2001. He was briefly the WCW head booker in 2000, replacing Vince Russo.
