O’Reilly and Roderick Strong had a fascinating exchange.
Kyle O’Reilly made a surprise appearance at AEW Revolution after Roderick Strong’s International Title win over Orange Cassidy. This was after nearly two years of injury-related absence.
O’Reilly, however, didn’t appear to be aligned to his former Undisputed Era member, first appearing stalk him, before embracing Strong, and finally walking away from him, Matt Taven, and Mike Bennett, after the trio had offered him a T-shirt.
O’Reilly was visibly moved by the reaction of the Greensboro Coliseum fans. He stared at the group as they walked up the ramp, after privately speaking to Strong. Taven and Bennett were confused when Strong gestured to them that all would be well.
O’Reilly is out of action since 2022. He underwent neck fusion in September that year, a surgery which he had put off for a while due to pains and issues with his arm. He suffered a rare complication after surgery that left him unable move his right arm. He was able to regain motion with a special device.
Fightful reported that O’Reilly, 37, had been backstage for shows at the end 2023. In December, the Canadian native posted on Instagram that he “might become a wrestler once again” when he returns to his home country in March.
