After Wednesday’s AEW dynamic, Kris Statlander’s win over current champion Willow Nightingale has made it official that the next challenger to the CMLL Women’s Title is now Kris Statlander.
While the referee distracted, the former TBS Champion beat Nightingale by hitting her with her arm wrapped around a chain and knocking her unconscious. Statlander continued to attack Nightingale after the match by hitting her with several chair shots.
It’s the latest in a feud which has simmered ever since Double or Nothing in May, when Statlander turned against Nightingale after losing her TBS title to Mercedes Mone.
Nightingale has just a few short weeks left in her first CMLL reign after winning a gold medal in a three way. Statlander is aiming for her first title run.
Both players are 2-2 in AEW singles.
