Kevin Patrick leaving WWE SmackDown commentary in todays Wrestling news
Patrick’s replacement is not yet known.
WWE has undergone another change in its commentary.
Kevin Patrick will no longer be a SmackDown commentator unless something else changes. Patrick was a SmackDown commentator alongside Corey Graves. It’s not known who will replace Patrick on the show.
Aaron Varble broke the news on Monday night.
SmackDown is set to change. Kevin Patrick is gone. No replacement has been named yet. I was told that ‘it just wasn’t working’.
WWE has not announced any news or details about what this means for the future.
Patrick and Graves had been calling Raw until the August 2013 shakeup. Patrick, Graves and Michael Cole were the new SmackDown Team. Cole and Wade Barrett were the Raw team. At the time, it was reported that WWE believed pairing Cole and Patrick would help Patrick develop as a broadcaster.
Cole left the SmackDown team earlier this month and now only calls Raw.
Patrick (Kevin Egan), a former soccer announcer, joined the WWE broadcasting team in March 2021. He is a backstage reporter, play-byplay commentator and Raw Talk host. He’s also a soccer announcer.
Patrick co-hosted WWE After the Bell, a podcast with Graves, until November last year.
