Kevin Owens revealed the date of his WWE contract’s expiration in a recent Metro UK interview.
Owens has been working with WWE since 2014. He signed a contract for three years in late 2021. Metro reported that he is not sure what will happen when his contract expires in nine months.
Owens said:
I don’t think I can take anything for granted. I have nine months left on (my) contract, and I’m not sure what will happen next.
Owens continued:
It’s been my home for ten years, and it goes beyond the locker room.
I can’t imagine my life without these very, very, special people who work behind the scenes.
It’s nice to have someone to bounce off of, someone you can trust. When I first arrived, I was really close to Finn Balor. I knew he would be someone I could trust. Now he is like a brother.
We may not always be together, Sami and I are on different brands. So we don’t often see each other. We’re always in touch and have a sounding-board for when the need arises.
I am very fortunate to be living the life I am living. It’s easy for you to forget when you do it a lot. It becomes the normal everyday thing, and you forget just how special it is.
Owens expressed similar views in an interview with The Toronto Sun from July 2023. He told the outlet he wanted to be involved in WWE in some capacity after his current contract ends, but he wasn’t sure how much time he had left in his in-ring career.
“I know that I want to be in wrestling. I know that I want to be a part of the WWE, and I am confident I have a spot here. Owens said, “I just don’t exactly know where it is.” “Maybe it is still in the ring or maybe it isn’t,” Owens said. I don’t.
Owens is currently working with The Bloodline in SmackDown. Tama Tonga, Solo Sikoa and Randy Orton were defeated by them and Randy Orton at Backlash on Saturday after an interference from Tanga Loa.
